Commerce
Our college established in 1935 as Wasudeo Arts College at Wardha. In 1942, the college was shifted to Nagpur and named as National College.
In 1949, Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati took over the college, when it was on the verge of closure. In 1951, Shrimant Dadasaheb Dhanwate donated sumptuously to the society and the college was named as “Dhanwate National College”
In 1960 Commerce and Science faculties were started. First time in the history of Nagpur University, Dhanwate National College had started B. Com in English medium along with Marathi Medium. In 1966 M. Com was introduced.
In 1967 Science faculty was separated and independent science college was established.
Department of Commerce is Recognised Research Centre of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.
Department runs short term Certificate Courses of Basics of Accounting, Practical Aspects of Income Tax, Time and Stress Management, Consumer Protection Act, Share Market and many other. Department conducts bridge course for the students who come from different faculties like science, MCVC etc. Our department organises different guest lectures of eminent personalities from professional fields. We also organise industrial visit and field visit for students for practical and project work.
Through “Start-up, Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation Cell” of college we impart entrepreneurship skills to the students so that they can become efficient entrepreneurs in future. We also have “Training, placement and career counselling committee” through that we prepare students for campus recruitment by arranging various training programs through professional for our students and we provide them proper assistance and give them opportunities for their successful career.
Our department has generated various luminaries in the field of education, social, political, judiciary, sports, bureaucracy, cultural etc. Our department also has good academic record of Meritorious Students from University every year.
The department of Commerce has legacy of Three Generation of Best Teacher Awardees by Govt. of Maharashtra.

The department have made tremendous progress in every aspect of education, academics, research and extension activities, currently the department trying to develop at every aspect more and more under the Head of Department Dr. R.N. Gosavi, with potent regular, ad-hoc and CHB faculties.
